Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections in the body. Ciprofloxacin works by destroying the bacteria or preventing their growth through inhibiting the DNA synthesis of bacteria. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, urinary tract infections, and infections of the respiratory tract.
