Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose pellets

Hydroxide of iron (III) An iron supplement known as polymaltose pellets contains a complex of iron and maltose. A non-toxic, water-soluble, and well-tolerated form of iron that is readily absorbed by the body is iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose. For oral administration, it is typically formulated into pellets and is a brown, odourless powder.

Hydroxide of iron (III) Iron deficiency anaemia, a condition in which the body lacks enough iron to produce haemoglobin, is frequently treated with polymaltose pellets. Red blood cells contain a protein called haemoglobin, which transports oxygen throughout the body. Haemoglobin depends on iron to function properly, and anaemia results when the body is unable to produce enough haemoglobin.

Hydroxide of iron (III) Patients who are unable to tolerate other types of iron supplements, such as ferrous sulphate, due to gastrointestinal side effects like nausea, constipation, and diarrhoea, frequently use polymaltose pellets. Pellets of iron (III) hydroxyl polymaltose are typically well tolerated and less likely to result in side effects.
